Over 80% of pins are re-pins, demonstrating the tremendous virality at work in the Pinterest community. To contrast, a study done at a similar time in Twitter’s history showed that only about 1.4% of tweets were retweets.
Actually you can read this stat a lot of different ways…  To us it would mean that very few people are pinning and Pinterest users are lurkers, not very engaged.  Surprisingly similar to Twitter actually. More interesting Pinterest stats here: Pinterest – An In Depth Look at the Stats.
